Interfaith Action Fall Gathering was held at Sherman

Monday October 21, 2019 at 7:00 P.M.

” Interfaith Action, based in Evanston, IL, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring together communities of faith and spirit to serve people who are hungry and homeless and to express shared values through action and interfaith dialogue. “

Sherman United Methodist Church member Mildred Carteris a member of the InterFaith Board. She serves on Interfaith Action’s Direct Services committee and volunteers at the Soup Kitchens, the Overnight shelter and the ProduceMobile.  She has also been involved with Connections for the Homeless sack lunch program for many years and plays a supportive role to women and children residing in New Life Interim shelter. She also volunteers as a return preparer and financial coach for the center for economic progress. She actively participates in the ministries of her church and has held numerous leadership positions. She has served as treasurer of her local United Methodist Women unit and sits on the national program advisory board;Mildred is an attorney and recently retired from her position as a senior federal tax analyst for a global corporation.
